Two retreats an hour apart in the same jungle can quote you $800 and $4,500 for a stay of similar length. Both numbers are real, both centers operate today, and the gap says less about quality than most people assume. Here are the 2026 figures we hold on file, and where the money actually goes.
What drives the price
The biggest cost is people. A center pays its curandero or healing family, its facilitators, its kitchen, and sometimes medical staff: Etnikas in the Cusco region gets recommended on Reddit precisely for its medical framing, with users citing nurses on staff. Screening adds cost too. Temple of the Way of Light runs every applicant through a questionnaire developed with ICEERS and reviewed by a licensed doctor and a psychologist, and that infrastructure is part of what its $4,440 twelve-day flagship pays for.
Group size cuts the other way. A center hosting twenty guests spreads its fixed costs wide; one capped at six cannot, yet small groups are exactly what experienced Reddit voices tell first-timers to look for. Length matters in an obvious way, and a handful of centers carry a premium for profile alone: Blue Morpho, covered by TIME and National Geographic, sits at the top of the market and does not publish its prices at all.

What all-inclusive actually covers
At the centers that publish details, the retreat price is genuinely most of the trip. AyaSelva's fee covers a private room with its own restroom, all ceremonies, diet-compliant meals, transport from Iquitos including the boat, jungle walks, plant baths and integration sessions, with the operator stating there are no hidden costs. Dreamglade's day rate is likewise all-inclusive, lodging and ceremonies together.
What no listing on file covers is getting to the region. Flights to Lima and the connection to Iquitos, Cusco or Pucallpa are yours, and so is any night you spend in town outside the program. Deposit and cancellation terms vary center to center and were not consistently published in our research pass, so confirm them in writing before you pay anything.
